Auditions: Graduate/Certificate - Trumpet

​​Applicants have a choice between two audition formats: in person auditions or recorded submissions. Though recorded auditions are accepted, we strongly encourage applicants to audition on campus to benefit from the in-person experience of meeting our faculty and seeing our facilities.

Audition Repertoire

- 1st and 2nd movements of the Haydn trumpet concerto in E-Flat Major (on b-flat or e-flat trumpet)
- Intrada for trumpet and piano by Arthur Honnegger

- Mussorgsky/Ravel - Pictures at an Exhibition: Promenade: beginning [2]
- Mahler - Symphony No. 5, mvmt. 1: beginning -4 after [1]
- Respighi - Pines of Rome: Mvmt 2: offstage solo
- Stravinsky - Petrouchka (1947 edition), 1 before [134]-[139]
- Handel - The Messiah, The Trumpet Shall Sound (on piccolo or D Trumpet)
