Auditions: Graduate/Certificate - Flute

We reserve the right to hear portions of this list in order to allow the audition committee to hear as much of the repertoire within the allotted time permitted for the audition. Applicants are not required to perform on piccolo but we encourage you to do so. An accompanist will not be supplied by the school; however if you choose to bring your own, please inform the admissions office.
  • A concerto of your choice (if Mozart, no cadenza needed)
  • Bach’s Sonata E Major, movements I & II or Sonata e Minor, movements I & II
  • Solo repertoire, contrasting styles
  • Orchestral flute excerpts
    • Beethoven’s Leonore #3, Allegro bars 328-360
    • Debussy’s Afternoon of a Faun, first 4 bars and rehearsal numbers 2-3
    • Hindemith’s Symphonic Metamorphosis, Andantino movement III
