Classical vocalists, violinists, clarinetists and all jazz instrumentalists/vocalists:  In addition to your online application, you must submit a pre-audition screening video by December 1After you submit your online application, you may upload your pre-audition recording to our website. If invited to do so after pre-screen review, you will be able to move to the next round of auditions.

Applicants have a choice between two audition formats: in person auditions or recorded submissions. Though recorded auditions are accepted, we strongly encourage applicants to audition on campus to benefit from the in-person experience of meeting our faculty and seeing our buildings. Below are the details for each format.

a. In person auditions take place during the month of January (regionally) and February (on-campus). Live auditions can be scheduled here. Please visit the specific instrument page for the repertoire.

b. Recorded auditions must be uploaded to your Blue Demon Domain (UG)/Application Portal (GR) no later than February 1. Recorded auditions must be accompanied by a short interview video submission. Please visit the specific instrument page for the repertoire and interview requirements. If you choose to proceed with a recorded audition, please email by January 25 to activate your portal.

After submitting your online application, you will be able to schedule your interview with the Music Education Coordinator.

Please visit this page to learn about the repertoire requirements.

Interviews with the Director of Music Education and recorded auditions are required of all Teacher Licensure applicants.

Audition results are reviewed and all decisions about acceptance are made in late March. Students are informed of the results by April 1.

Response to an acceptance is required no later than May 1.
