Practice Space Reservations

​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​All spaces in the Holtschneider Performance Center must be booked in the scheduling system, ASIMUT​, prior to use.  Click here​ to see a tutorial on how to use ASIMUT.  ​​

What spaces am I able to book​?

All School of Music students and faculty may book practice general practice rooms and chamber rooms up to 2 weeks in advance.

All School of Music students and faculty may book chamber and rehearsal rooms for rehearsals and coachings.  Reservations can be made up to 12 weeks in advance, allowing you to set up regular weekly rehearsals. 

Please note, these spaces should not be used for lessons or individual practice. 

All School of Music students and faculty may book large rehearsal rooms up to 1 week in advance.

All classical and jazz bass students and faculty may book bass practice rooms up to 2 weeks in advance.  This room can be accessed via DePaul ID swipe/scan.

All classical, collaborative, and jazz piano students and faculty may book piano practice rooms up to 2 weeks in advance.  These rooms can be accessed via DePaul ID swipe/scan.

All jazz drum students and faculty may book drum set practice rooms up to 2 weeks in advance. These rooms can be accessed via DePaul ID swipe/scan.

All classical percussion students and faculty can book percussion practice rooms up to 2 weeks in advance, except for C218, the large percussion rehearsal room, which can be booked up to 1 day in advance. These rooms can be accessed via DePaul ID swipe/scan.

All students enrolled in Baroque Ensemble can book the Baroque Room up to 2 weeks in advance. This room can be accessed via the key lockbox.

All SRT students may book the SRT Production Rooms up to 2 weeks in advance. These rooms can be accessed via DePaul ID swipe/scan. SRT juniors and seniors may book the SRT studios and live room up to 2 weeks in advance. These rooms can be accessed via the key lockbox.

All composition majors can book the Composition Studio up to 2 weeks in advance. This room can be accessed via DePaul ID swipe/scan.

If you believe your ASIMUT or swipe access is not accurate, please contact Julia Miller

Policies for the School of Music (SOM) and Holtschneider Performance Center (HPC) spaces:

  • SOM/HPC spaces are to be used by current SOM students, faculty, and staff only.  All outside guests must have pre-approval and be on campus for academic purposes only.
  • SOM/HPC spaces are not to be used to teach lessons to anyone who is not a current SOM or Community Music Division student – this includes lessons held over Zoom or other video conferencing services.
  • Faculty are permitted to give lessons to high-school-aged and older prospective students for recruitment purposes.
  • You forfeit your reservation if you do not arrive within the first 15 minutes of your booking.
  • Reset all chairs, stands, and any other equipment you use to the location where you found them.
  • Treat rooms and equipment with care – report any damages to Julia Miller.
  • Beverages with secure lids are allowed in these spaces, but food is not.
  • Any violations of these policies may result in loss of access.
