About
Aaron Goldman is Principal Flute of the National Symphony Orchestra, appointed to the position in 2012 by Christoph Eschenbach. He has been featured as soloist with the NSO under conductors Gianandrea Noseda, Nathalie Stutzmann, JoAnn Falletta, and Christoph Eschenbach, performing repertoire from Mozart and Bach to William Bolcom and Lowell Liebermann. Beyond the NSO, he has appeared as a concerto soloist with the Virginia Chamber Orchestra, Arlington Philharmonic, Amadeus Orchestra, Orlando Philharmonic, and at National Flute Association conventions. 

A dedicated chamber musician, Goldman has performed with the Kennedy Center Chamber Players, 21st Century Consort, Smithsonian Chamber Orchestra, Eclipse Chamber Orchestra, and at festivals including Chamber Music Festival of the Black Hills and Mainly Mozart Festival. His extensive orchestral experience includes principal roles with the Orlando Philharmonic, guest principal engagements with the Baltimore Symphony and Mainly Mozart Festival, and performances at the Grant Park Music Festival. 

Goldman serves on the faculty of DePaul University School of Music, the Peabody Institute, and Catholic University of America, and has held teaching positions at the University of Maryland and teaches regularly at the National Symphony Orchestra’s Summer Music Institute and Youth Fellowship Program. He has given masterclasses at leading institutions such as the Eastman School of Music, Rice University, Mannes School of Music, University of Miami, and the New World Symphony, and has been a featured artist at major flute festivals across the U.S. 

Goldman earned his Bachelor of Music degree from the Eastman School of Music, where he studied with Bonita Boyd.
