Julia Evans, a violinist from New York City, completed her Undergraduate degree in Violin Performance at the Mannes College of Music in 2002 and then her Masters in Performance at NYU in 2004.

Since 2005, Mrs Evans has been an active performer in various orchestras, chamber music groups, and on Broadway. Orchestras on the East Coast she has performed with include the Orchestra of St Luke’s where she played at Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center, the American Composers

Orchestra which concentrated on new compositions, the Harrisburg Symphony (PA), and the York Symphony. Currently, Mrs. Evans is playing in the Chicago area orchestras such as the Elgin Symphony, Illinois Philharmonic Orchestra, Rockford Symphony, and the Chicago Sinfonietta.

Some key performances were in the Orchestra of St Luke's, where she had the privilege to perform Sir Paul McCartney’s classical Album, play Showboat at Carnegie Hall, and opera excerpts at Avery Fisher Hall with Dawn Upshaw singing. She also played on the Broadway show “Hairspray!” for two years until it closed.

As an educator, Mrs. Evans has been teaching violin and viola since 2004 in the NY, Boston, Baltimore and Chicago areas. Her experience is vast and varied having taught in many music schools, private schools, after school programs, and as a teaching artist in the NY and Boston public schools.
