About Dr. Susanne Baker
Susanne Baker is the founder and director of the DePaul Community Music
Division. She teaches both traditional and Suzuki piano students as well
as group classes in the pre-college program. She is a frequent
adjudicator in the Chicago area, teaches on the summer faculty of the
Chicago Suzuki Institute, serves on the Committee of School Directors of
the National Guild of Community Schools of the Arts, and is the 2009-10
Convener for the Chicago Consortium of Community Music Schools.
Dr. Baker is also an adjunct faculty member in the DePaul School of
Music where she teaches piano pedagogy and coordinates the group piano
program. She holds a Doctor of Music in Piano Performance and Pedagogy
from Northwestern University, a Masters in Piano Performance from
American University, a Master of Arts in Education and Music from the
University of Wisconsin and a bachelors degree in mathematics from
Ashley Beech, Performance Coordinator
About Louis Arata
Louis Arata processes registrations and payments for
the Community Music Division. He holds an MA in English from DePaul
University and a BA from Shepherd University. In 2008, his play A Careful Wish was first produced, and in 2013 he published his novel, Dead Hungry. He is currently revising a novel, Reston Peace, which he plans to release in 2016. A
longtime resident of Chicago, he has performed as an actor and a
playwright with theatres in the city and Indiana.

About Ashley Beech
Ashley Beech serves as the Performance Coordinator for the Community Music Division, scheduling and running events, classes, and recitals. Before working at DePaul, she was a music teacher in Michigan and around the Chicago area with experience teaching early childhood and elementary general music as well as instrumental music for middle and high school students. She holds a BM and MM in Music Education from Michigan State University. Originally from the north shore suburbs, she now lives on Chicago’s northwest side with her family.
Kari Lindquist, Marketing Coordinator
About Daniel Glynn
Daniel Glynn serves as the Educational Programs Coordinator in the Community Music Division, overseeing the on-site group programs and the off-site lesson programs. He holds degrees in both Music and Administration from Northwestern University.
About Kari Lindquist
Kari serves as the Marketing Coordinator for the Community Music
Division. Before moving to Chicago, she played the saxophone in the
Michigan Marching Band while studying at the University of Michigan. She
came to Chicago to receive her MA in Humanities from the University of
Chicago focusing on Music and English. She also works as a teaching
artist with organizations across Chicago and the North suburbs
teaching music and creative writing.
