Mary Mazurek is a GRAMMY-nominated recording engineer, broadcaster, producer, educator, and artist with over 30 years of industry experience. Her work is regularly featured on WFMT Radio and WFMT.com. As a practicing media artist her works have been exhibited, performed, and screened in both the U.S., Mexico, and worldwide on the web and via social media. She is a voting member of The Recording Academy, as well as a full member of the Audio Engineering Society and chairperson of the Diversity and Inclusion Committee. She was the first woman elected president of the Engineering And Recording Society of Chicago, where she continues to serve as a steering committee member. Mary teaches at the DePaul School of Music and Columbia College Chicago, as well as guest lectures at other institutions. Additionally, she loves sharing her visual and sonic insights across disciplines. She is currently writing her PhD dissertation on the subject of noise in art and music through the Institute for Doctoral Studies in the Visual Arts, in Portland, ME.
Mary has been selected to receive the DePaul School of Music 2022 Distinguished Alumni Award. She will be honored on Sunday, May 22nd, with an award presentation at the annual Music Alumni Reception, hosted at the Holtschneider Performance Center.
