​​​​​​Interactive Music Theory Lab
The CMD’s interactive Music Theory Lab gives students the opportunity to gain knowledge and skills that will deepen their understanding of the music they are studying. Students are personally guided through written worksheets, analysis of scores, ear training activities, and composition projects.

Individual Instruction
Individual Music Theory instruction is available to adults from beginning to advanced levels. Lessons are designed to augment reading skills and clarify standard theoretical concepts through written work, ear training and sight-singing. Additional topics in analysis, counterpoint and twentieth century idioms are available.

  • Individual instruction rates apply 
  • Weekly lessons of 30, 45 and 60 minutes are available. Lessons are taught at the Lincoln Park campus on weekdays and Saturdays and are scheduled on an individual basis through an informal phone interview with the Director of the Community Music Division.
