On Stage at HPC
How many concerts does the School of Music present annually?
The DePaul School of Music is a vibrant performance hub, presenting nearly 300 concerts and recitals each academic year. This extensive schedule showcases the diverse talents of students, faculty ensembles and renowned guest artists across various musical genres.
Venues and Facilities
Where do most School of Music performances take place?
The majority of performances are held within the state-of-the-art Holtschneider Performance Center. Key venues include the Mary Patricia Gannon Concert Hall, Allen Recital Hall, Brennan Family Recital Hall and the Murray and Michele Allen Performance Hall for various event sizes.
Concerts and Events
Are School of Music concerts open to the public?
Yes, nearly all concerts and recitals presented by the School of Music are open to the general public. While many events are free, some larger ensemble concerts or special guest artist performances may require tickets, which can often be purchased online or at the box office.

What types of ensembles perform regularly at the school?
A wide variety of student and faculty ensembles perform throughout the year. Audiences can enjoy performances by the DePaul Symphony Orchestra, Wind Ensemble, Jazz Orchestra, Opera Theatre, Concert Choir, Chamber Choir, Percussion Ensemble and numerous chamber music groups.
