Mary Mazurek

Mary Mazurek is a GRAMMY nominated recording engineer. Her nomination was awarded by the Recording Academy at the 61st Annual GRAMMY Awards in the category of Best Engineered Album, Classical. She is also broadcaster, producer, educator, and artist. Her work is regularly featured on WFMT Radio and As a practicing media artist her works have been exhibited, performed, and screened in both the U.S., Mexico, and worldwide on the web and via social media. She is a sought after speaker and educator who enjoys contributing in the classroom and on panels and committees within her industry and beyond. She has taught at Columbia College Chicago as well as guest lectured at other institutions. She serves as a role model and advocate for women in the recording industry, which presently is less than 5% female. Additionally, she loves sharing her visual and sonic insights across disciplines. 

She is currently writing her PhD dissertation on the subject of noise in art and music through the Institute for Doctoral Studies in the Visual Arts. In the Fall of 2019, Mary returned to the School of Music to teach a Sound Recording Technology course.​
