Singer's Workshop for Prospective Voice Students

Friday, November 10, 9 am - 3 pm | FREE

Prospective voice students are invited to participate in a free, comprehensive workshop featuring clinics and master classes with members of the DePaul School of Music voice faculty. This day-long workshop is ideal for any student interested in studying voice at the collegiate level. The workshop will feature master classes, sessions on topics of singing, acting for singers and the opportunity to audition for entrance into the School of Music. Lunch will be provided.

Those students wishing to audition for entrance to the DePaul School of Music should prepare two songs, classical in nature, one in English and one in a foreign language.

There is no fee to participate and those interested in attending only need to complete the registration form on or before Tuesday, November 7.

Master class sessions will be led by Christopher Magiera, Harry Silverstein, David Alt, Jeffrey Ray and Jo Rodenburg.

The DePaul School of Music voice faculty includes: David Alt (Chapman University, University of Miami), Alban Bridges Jr. (Texas Christian University, Northwestern University), Nicole Cabell (BBC Cardiff Singer of the World 2005), Eric Esparza (Rice University, Florida State University, Boston University), Linda Hirt (Ohio Wesleyan University, Indiana University), Nicholas Hutchinson (Oberlin International Piano Competition Finalist, University of Michigan), Christopher Magiera (Yale School of Music, National Grand Finalist in the Metropolitan Opera's National Council Auditions), Jeffrey Ray (Lyric Opera of Chicago, Ravinia Festival), Jo Rodenburg (Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Music of the Baroque), and Harry Silverstein (San Francisco Opera, English National Opera).
