Area Percussion Ensembles (Junior High through Collegiate) are welcome to sign-up for a ½ hour performance/clinic with DePaul Percussion Faculty members Mike Green and Ian Ding.  Space is limited from 9am-12pm in two rooms, including our Concert Hall and Orchestra Rehearsal Room.  Initially, each school will only be allowed one slot to accommodate as many schools as possible.  Schools may perform as many pieces as they like, but please know that the more performance time, the less clinic time will be available.  All clinic rooms are open for DOP attendees to sit in and watch as many schools perform as they would like.

The $100 registration fee for your ensemble includes General Admission for 2 directors and all ensemble members.  Parents will have to register for the event separately if they plan on attending other events throughout the day.

All schools are encouraged to attend the full day of clinics before and after your performance time.
The following instruments will be available in each room.  Should you need something else, you will be responsible for bringing it to the event.  Please email Michael Kozakis (mkozakis@depaul.edu) if you feel there is a pressing need for another instrument that you can’t provide (such as a fourth marimba for your time slot).

3 Marimbas (2 marimbas will be 5-octave rosewood, 1 will be 4.3-octave rosewood)
1 Vibraphone
1 Set of Four Timpani (may be Dresden or Balanced Action Pedals)
1 Rosewood Xylophone
1 Concert Bells
1 Chimes
1 Concert Toms (set of 4)
1 Concert Snare Drum on stand

Dana Hall, Director of Jazz studies at DePaul, will be offering a jazz workshop in the morning from 9am-12pm in the new jazz performance hall. At 9am, Dana will give a clinic on techniques for successful performance in a jazz combo. Starting at 10am, Dana will provide the opportunity for area jazz combos to perform selections for him and receive a clinic. Those drummers who would like to participate and don't have a combo to bring along can still play from a pre-approved list of tunes (DePaul will provide current students to fill out the combo). Space is extremely limited to provide adequate time to performing combos. All combo performances are open for all DOP attendees to drop in and watch/learn.
