Suzuki instruction is offered in violin, viola, cello, bass, piano, flute, guitar, percussion, trumpet, and voice. A Suzuki-inspired aural/reading option is also offered for percussion. Developed in the 1950’s by Japanese educator Dr. Shinichi Suzuki, the Suzuki pedagogical approach is based on the premise that talent can be developed and nurtured in any child. Students may start the program at the following ages: four years (violin, viola, cello, guitar), five years (flute, bass, voice), six years (piano & percussion).
