This class is an excellent introduction for complete
beginners as well as those students who are returning after a
long gap in their studies. The course focuses on basic concepts of note
and rhythmic reading, keyboard technique, repertoire study and basic
concepts of music theory. Classes are held in the School of Music
Digital Piano Lab, allowing each student to work at an individual
keyboard while learning from other classmates in a friendly, supportive
atmosphere. Textbook required. Students must have access to an acoustic
piano or digital keyboard for practicing. Minimum enrollment required.
