About
Lerryn Schaefer Donatelle is a violist and teacher in Chicago, IL. Lerryn holds a Master of Music in Viola Performance from DePaul University and a Bachelor of Music in Viola Performance from the Lawrence Conservatory of Music. Her principal teachers have included Rami Solomonow, Matthew Michelic, Leslie Straka, and Jacquelyn Schwandt.

Lerryn currently teaches at DePaul University's Community Music Division, at the Merit School of Music, and maintains a private studio in Chicago. Lerryn received her Suzuki teacher training from Ann Montzka-Smelser and Mark Mutter at the American Suzuki Institute, and from Rolando Freitag at DePaul. She completed additional pedagogy training at the Lawrence Conservatory.

As a violist, Lerryn performs regularly with several local and regional orchestras and opera companies. She is also an avid chamber musician. She has performed in master classes for Michael Tree, Abram Loft, Charles Castleman, and the Pacifica, Ebéne, and Brentano String Quartets.
