Kevin Fort has been an active performer in Chicago for nearly 15 years and has worked with such notable musicians as John Clayton, Bill Watrous, Ramsey Lewis, Wayne Bergeron, and Rick Baptist. He graduated with highest honors from the DePaul University School of Music with both his BM and MM in Jazz Studies. While there, he studied piano with Alan Swain and Larry Novak as well as composition with Tom Matta.
Kevin has had much success as a composer and arranger. His arrangements have been featured at the Jazz Showcase, the Chicago Jazz Festival, and the Midwest Band and Orchestra Clinic. In 2005, Fort won the Union League Civic and Arts Foundation Composition Award for his piece, “Omega 3.” Teaching has always been important to Kevin, especially helping others learn to play jazz. In addition to his duties at the DePaul University Community Music Division, Fort is on faculty at Moraine Valley Community College. Kevin is also formerly a faculty member at Benedictine University. ​
