Yulia Block
Yulia Block has joined the Community Music Division at the DePaul School of Music in 2018. She is an active performer and enthusiastic educator. Born in Chelyabinsk, Russia, Ms. Block received a Bachelor of Music performance degree from the Roosevelt University Chicago College of Performing Arts in 2015 and a Master's Degree in Percussion Performance at the DePaul School of Music in 2018.


Currently Ms. Block is a percussion faculty at the The People's Music School, Oak Park and River Forest High School, Palatine High School, and a percussionist with the Southwest Michigan Symphony Orchestra, as well as other orchestras in the Chicagoland area. 
As an active freelance musician, Ms. Block has performed in Carnegie Hall and Avery Fisher Halls in New York City, Chicago Symphony Center. She has also toured Europe with a renown composer and conductor Krzysztof Penderecki.


As a recording musician, she has been working with the Moscow Radio Symphony and recorded an album with an opera singer Maria Maksakova,
“Favorite Arias." Ms. Block is affiliated with the Chicago Federation of Musicians (CFM)
