About
Clarinetist Louis Kim is actively engaged in many fields of musical genre, and is currently based in Chicago. He has performed in various venues in the U.S and abroad, and has performed in many ensembles. He has been a member of the San Francisco Symphony Youth Orchestra for three consecutive seasons (2012-2015), and had embarked on a European Tour in 2015 performing in prestigious concert venues such as; the Berliner Philharmonie, Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, and Smetana Hall in Prague. His active interest in the new music scene, Louis has participated in the annual Switchboard Music Festival in San Francisco performing wide ranges of new music. He has also worked well-known composers such as John Adams, Mason Bates, Johnathan Russell, Max Stoffregen, and Nathaniel Stookey. He is currently earning his Master’s Degree in Clarinet Performance at DePaul University studying under Larry Combs and Julie DeRoche. He earned his Bachelor of Music Degree at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music.
