Lauren Cless is an experienced pedagogue and orchestral violinist, and a member of the faculty at the Western Springs School of Talent Education. She is a graduate of long-term teacher training in the Suzuki violin method with trainer Kimberly Meier-Sims at the Cleveland Institute of Music Sato Center for Suzuki studies. Her complete Suzuki method training includes units 1-10, teaching practicum, and Suzuki Principles in Action. In 2017, Lauren was a recipient of the Certificate of Achievement from the Suzuki Association of the Americas, an award that recognizes teachers with a commitment to excellence, life-long learning, and self-improvement

Lauren is an active performer and freelance violinist, and a member of the Elgin Symphony Orchestra and Illinois Philharmonic Orchestra. She previously spent three years playing in the Charleston Symphony Orchestra.  Lauren earned a Master of Music in Violin Performance and Suzuki Pedagogy from the Cleveland Institute of Music and a Bachelor of Music in Violin Performance from Northwestern University. Major teachers and mentors include Kenneth Goldsmith, Gerardo Ribeiro, David Updegraff, Stephen Rose, and Kimberly Meier-Sims.

She lives in Forest Park with her husband and their daughter, who is currently obsessed with all things violin and cello.
