About
Justine Scarbrough, soprano, recently completed her Masters of Music in Voice from DePaul University. Her roles with DePaul Opera Theatre include La Musica in Monteverdi’s Orfeo, Rosalinde (cover) in Die Fledermaus, and chorus in The Magic Flute. She is a two-time recipient of the Encouragement Award at the district level Metropolitan Opera Council Auditions (2013, 2016). Prior to her time at DePaul, Justine ran a full-time voice and piano studio, was a soloist and chorus member with the Fargo-Moorhead Opera Company, and volunteered at local high school choirs leading sectionals, warm-ups, and assisting in concert preparations. Justine completed her bachelor’s degree at Concordia College in Moorhead, MN, where she sang as a soloist in the renowned Concordia Choir under composer and conductor René Clausen. She currently maintains a voice and piano studio, age 5-adult, is an active soloist throughout the Chicago area, and hopes to continue her experience as an educator and director to foster her passion for outreach, while pursuing a solo performing career.
