Summer Voice

The Summer Voice program is an innovative program for both current pre-college and college-level students seeking to refine audition repertoire through voice lessons, coaching, stage technique classes and performances.

New!  The pre-college and college programs will be combined into one week to take better advantage of our faculty’s availability and on campus facilities​. There is ample space within our state-of-the-art facilities in the Holtschneider Performance Center ​for both programs to run simultaneously, but on two separate tracks.  Students will participate​ in one-on-one coaching with multiple members of our vocal faculty, small group class work with our acclaimed opera director Harry Silverstein, as well as studio classes and master classes each day.   In addition to these class sessions, students will receive individual coaching and voice lessons with many of our world class voice faculty. Please note:  The 2021 Summer Voice program will be held in person on the School of Music campus, with sessions happening in the state-of-the-art Holtschneider Performance Center​.  On campus housing can be available for the week.  For information and rates, please contact Ben Polancich.    ​

This program provides a rare and unique opportunity for students to work with many of the School of Music's illustrious voice and opera faculty who are professional musicians at the top of their fields. Faculty members are updated as they are confirmed. All faculty are subject to change. Please check back for any faculty updates.

Tuition for either program is $1,095 (non-credit) for all students. 

On-campus housing is available. For information and rates, please contact Ben Polancich.

For college program: Please submit your resume and recent headshot, and portfolio recordings from required repertoire.  Please upload two pieces; one in English, one in a foreign language. One of the pieces should be an aria. 

For pre-college program: Please upload an artistic resume to the portfolio section of the application. If you do not have a resume, please submit a document describing your experience and why you’d like to join this summer program.  Please upload two pieces, second piece may be an art song or musical theater.

Notification of admission status provided to all applicants on a rolling basis.

Friday, June 11 – Deadline for admitted students to express intent to enroll in the program.

Friday, June 18 - 50% of tuition fees due on this day. 

Friday, July 2 – Final payment of tuition fees due along with comleted Minors on Campus paperwork (if applicable).
