Your gift to the School of Music helps the School:
- Create scholarships: The need for funds designated specifically for scholarships is ever-present and will continue to be of the highest priority as we seek to attract the most talented students to the School of Music.
- Enhance facilities and address equipment needs: One of the largest undertakings of the Campaign is the construction of brand new educational and performance spaces for the Performing Arts, which will enable the School of Music to enhance the overall experience of our students and help them reach their full potential.
- Recruit and retain faculty: The School has attracted stellar faculty, many drawn from Chicago’s elite musical organizations such as the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and the Lyric Opera. Additional funding provides the opportunity to add more such luminaries to our faculty.
- Provide new programming opportunities: From bringing a visiting artist to campus, to creating a new ensemble and more performance opportunities, to sending an ensemble on a national tour—all of these activities (and more) require funding and resources which may not be provided by the School’s annual budget.
Donors who give at the $1,000 level or above will automatically become members of the President’s Club, the University-wide giving society. As a member of the President’s Club, you will be invited to special events hosted by the President and will receive special recognition in University publications.
