Performance
Combining private study with courses in literature and pedagogy along with participation in large and small ensembles prepares students for the rigors of this highly competitive field. DePaul faculty members perform in the major concert halls, jazz venues, and opera houses around the world and know what it takes to thrive, not just survive.
PERFORMANCE OPPORTUNITIES
The School of Music produces more than 300 public performances a year. In addition to concerts and recitals on campus, DePaul's Orchestra performs each Spring in the Chicago Symphony's world-renowned Symphony Center, DePaul Opera Theatre performs at our beautiful downtown Merle Reskin Theatre, and DePaul's Jazz Ensemble performs at the Jazz Showcase. Many students perform in outside groups such as the Civic Orchestra of Chicago.
