About
Erica Lessie received her BM in cello performance from Indiana University, where she studied with Fritz Magg. At Florida State University she earned an MM in cello performance and completed classes in the doctoral program.
Ms. Lessie is Suzuki and Music Together certified and has taught both programs in the Chicago public schools. She has been a cello instructor at numerous public and private​ institutions over the past twenty-eight years.
Currently, Ms. Lessie is a freelance cellist in the Chicago area.  She is co-founder of Cherchez la Femme, an ensemble dedicated to performing works by women and is an auxiliary member of the rock band Tributosaurus. She has created Cellos of Unusual Shape, a solo presentation that explores the diversity of variant cellos.
