Emi joins the Community Music Division faculty with a diverse professional background which includes both performing and teaching experience. She holds a Master of Music degree in Vocal Performance from the University of Kentucky and a Bachelor’s degree in Vocal Performance from Christopher Newport University in Newport News, VA.  Emi began her career in Kentucky where she taught voice and directed children’s musicals for the University of Kentucky’s Academy for Creative Excellence. She has performed in over fifteen operas and musicals in Europe and the United States in addition to participating in the summer opera program, Operafestival di Roma. Emi relocated to Chicago in 2014 and currently teaches at the Ovation Academy for the Performing Arts and the BRAVO program in Oak Park, IL.  Upcoming performances include presentations of The Magic Flute for classrooms as a member of Chicago Opera Playhouse and The Cabaret Project in Chicago.
