Musical Theatre Workshop for Teens
Open to students in grades 6 through 12, the workshop is an intensive, performance oriented program in musical theatre. Class sessions include vocal and physical warm-ups, theatre games, song preparation, interpretation of text, character analysis and exploration, and stage movement. Each student performs in group numbers and at least one solo or scene. As a member of the Musical Theatre Company, participants take an active role in helping each other throughout the developmental process, working as an ensemble toward the final performance at the end of each quarter. Students in the Musical Theatre Workshop have gone on to do outstanding work in school and community productions as well as singing with The Lyric Opera Children’s Chorus and The Chicago Children’s Choir. Admission by audition or permission of instructor. Call the CMD office to schedule an audition/interview 773/325-7262.
