Music Division

Welcome to the Community Music Division of DePaul University’s School of Music – a community school committed to offering the finest music instruction to people of all ages, skill  levels and backgrounds. Situated on DePaul’s Lincoln Park campus, the school has become a vital teaching center serving students from many communities in the Chicago area.  We provide a broad range of programs that fit the needs of people from children to adults, and beginners to the most advanced students. The wealth of musical offerings include individual instruction on almost every instrument and voice, early childhood classes, a children’s choir and an adult community chorus, string orchestras, flute choirs, chamber ensembles, theory classes, a Musical Theatre Workshop for Teens and a New Horizons Band and Orchestra for adults.  Here, you will learn from caring and dedicated teachers who are ready to nurture and develop your interests in a friendly, supportive environment. Students who are studying for personal enrichment or planning potential careers in music can benefit from the knowledge and expertise of faculty who are chosen for their commitment to excellence in arts instruction.  Our strong commitment to quality music education for all students continues as we approach the end of our second decade. We invite you to join our community of dedicated music enthusiasts.

Sincerely,
Susanne Baker
