Cello Auditions
Undergraduate cello applicants are asked to prepare all three-octave scales and arpeggios, an etude by Popper, Piatti, Greutzmacher or Duport, two contrasting movements of an unaccompanied Bach suite, and one movement from a major cello concerto.
Graduate cello applicants are asked to prepare all four-octave scales and arpeggios, an etude by Popper, Piatti, or Duport; three contrasting movements of an unaccompanied Bach suite; and a major concerto such as Dvoak, Haydn's D Major, Tchaikovsky's Roccoco Variations, or Shostakovich.
