Auditions: Undergraduate – Flute

We reserve the right to hear portions of this list in order to allow the audition committee to hear as much of the repertoire within the allotted time permitted for the audition. Applicants are not required to perform on piccolo but we encourage you to do so. An accompanist will not be supplied by the school; however if you choose to bring your own, please inform the admissions office.

  • All major and minor scales, 2 or 3 octaves
  • Choose one of the following
    • Bach Sonata in E Major, Movement I or II
    • Bach Sonata in e minor, Movement I or II
  • Choose one solo from the solo repertoire listed below:
    • Chaminade, Concertino
    • Michael Colquhoun, Charanga
    • Dutilleux, Sonatine
    • Godard, Allegretto
    • Griffes, Poem
    • Hindemith, Sonata, Movements I/III
    • Muczynski, Sonata, Movements II/IV
    • Poulenc, Sonata, Movements I/II
    • Taffanel, Andente Pastoral and/or Scherzettino
  • Choose one solo of your choice (this can be a concerto)
  • (Piccolo, optional)
