Fall 2024 Applicants:
We encourage all applicants if at all possible, to audition in person. All applicants (except SRT non-performance and PAM Bachelor of Science) must perform an audition, regardless of format, in order to be considered.
- Live audition dates are scheduled during the weekends in February. You can use the links below to sign up.
- Recorded video auditions are available by request. Request a recorded audition in lieu of a live audition by emailing musicadmissions@depaul.edu by January 15. If your request is approved by faculty, then you must submit your recorded audition video to your applicant portal by February 1.
Audition requirements vary slightly depending on the degree an applicant is seeking. Please see your specific instrument requirements.

ON-CAMPUS AUDITIONS
On-campus auditions will take place on weekends throughout February. Audition dates for specific instruments will be updated by mid-October for Fall 2024 admission.
Sound Recording Technology- Applicants pursuing the performance track (BM) in Sound Recording Technology, please refer to your specific instrument's audition requirements.
- Applicants pursuing a non-performance track (BS) in Sound Recording Technology must submit a
video audition performing one selection that demonstrates their facility and musical understanding. In addition, SRT non-performance track applicants must follow the requirements listed here.
Performing Arts Management- Applicants pursuing the
performance track (BM) in Performing Arts Management, please refer to your specific instrument's audition requirements.
- Admission to the
non-performance track (BS) in Performing Arts Management does not require an audition but is contingent upon an interview with the program faculty, submission of a writing sample, and a satisfactory completion of a music theory diagnostic test.
Please note: Masks are not required inside the Holtschneider Performance Center spaces. At the same time, DePaul University continues to be a
mask-friendly campus , and wearing a mask will be highly recommended for all indoor spaces. Proof of full vaccination or a negative Covid-19 test will no longer be required for entrance into the building.
