About

Christopher Lorimer, tenor, has been heard extensively in both opera and oratorio performances in and around Chicago.  He has soloed with Music of the Baroque, the Apollo Chorus, Northshore Choral Society, Evanston Bach Week Festival, Rockford Bach Chamber Choir, the Chicago Chamber Orchestra and Chicago Youth Symphony, the Antioch Chamber Ensemble and with Ars Antiqua, Ars Viva and Chicago Camerata.  He has sung the roles of Kaspar in "Amahl and the Night Visitors", Alfred in "Die Fledermaus" and  Pedrillo in "Abduction from the Seraglio" with DuPage Opera Theater, the Duke in "Rigoletto" with Opera Piccolo, and also appeared with New Opera of Chicago and Chicago Opera Theatre.  In addition to placing first in the Chicago Union League Civic and Arts Foundation Competition, he has received awards from the Mozart Society of Chicago and the Friends of Austria.  Christopher was a finalist in the International Meistersinger Concert in Graz, Austria, and has been a soloist with the Bach Aria Group in Stony Brook, New York.  Most recently he has performed the role of Bastien in Mozart's "Bastien and Bastienne" with the Comic Intermezzo, and the role of Samuel Parris "The Crucible" with Chamber Opera Chicago.   Christopher is on the voice faculty in the School of Music at DePaul University where he teaches studio voice and vocal pedagogy.
