About

Olga Kaler has established herself as a versatile musician, combining solo, chamber music and teaching careers with equal success. Since 2004, she has been on the faculty of DePaul School of Music, where she teaches applied violin and string pedagogy.

Kaler is currently working on a doctoral degree at Northwestern University School of Music.  Her other degrees were received  from the Moscow State Conservatory in Russia and the Stolyarsky Special Music School in Odessa, Ukraine and her teachers include Professors Almita Vamos, Leonid and Benjamin Mordkovich, Naoum Latinsky, Inna Gaukhman, James Buswell and Nelli Shkolnikova.

Kaler was awarded the Special Prize at the 1990 Rodolfo Lipitzer International Competition, was a finalist at the Concert Artist Guild International Competition and won the Concerto Competition and Thaviu Competition at Northwestern University in 2009.

Kaler’s orchestral engagements include the Chicago, Boston, Indianapolis Symphony Orchestras as well as positions with the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra and the Syracuse Symphony Orchestra. Olga Kaler is a member of the World Orchestra for Peace under the direction of Valery Gergiev and has performed around the world with this outstanding group since 2005. She is also a member of the Chautauqua Symphony Orchestra, NY, and the Chicago Ensemble, with whom she regularly appears in chamber music concerts throughout the Chicago area .

Music festivals appearances include the Skaneateles Music Festival, NY; Montreal Chamber Music Festival, CA; Steamboat Springs Chamber Festival in Colorado; Athens Music Festival in Greece;Villa Musica and Schlezwig Holstein Festivals in Germany; performing as a soloist, chamber and orchestral musician and giving master classes. She frequently shares the stage with many of today's leading artists and chamber groups around the world.
