About
Juan Campoverde Q. is an Ecuadorian composer whose works have been successfully performed throughout the Americas, Europe, and Asia.
Dr. Campoverde studied music at the National Conservatory of Music (1985) and the Pontifical University (1987), both in Cuenca, Ecuador. Through a Fulbright Scholarship, he continued his studies in the USA at the University of Cincinnati (MM 1993) and the University of California in San Diego, where he earned a PhD in Composition with Roger Reynolds (2001).
L'Ensemble Intercontemporain, the Excelsior Quartet, Kammerensemble, the National Symphony Orchestra of Ecuador, the Philharmonic Orchestra of the University of Cincinnati, and the ensemble SONOR have performed his music.
His music has been heard twice at the ISCM World Music Days (Yokohama, 2001; Hong Kong, 2002) and was also featured in the Green Umbrella series of the Los Angeles Philharmonic (with the CalArts New Century Players).
