Audition Requirements (Graduate)
Masters Degree in piano performance
Memorization is required
- J.S. Bach: A prelude and a fugue from The Well-Tempered Clavier
- A complete classical sonata; e.g. Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven, Schubert
- A composition from the 19th or 20th century
- A virtuoso etude; e.g. Chopin, Liszt, Rachmaninoff, Scriabin, Debussy, Ligeti
Certificate in Performance
Memorization is required
- A contrapuntal work of any period containing a fugue
- A complete sonata of any period
- A large romantic composition from the 19th century/early 20th century
- A composition from the middle/late 20th century or the 21st century
- An advanced virtuoso etude; e.g. Chopin, Liszt, Rachmaninoff, Scriabin, Debussy, Ligeti
