Audition Requirements (Graduate)
Graduate Auditions should feature one selection each on snare drum, timpani, 2 mallet marimba & 4 mallet marimba and include orchestral excerpts. All students are asked to bring three copies of their music with them to the audition.
Snare Drum
- Solo (Delecluse Douze Etudes is recommended)
- 3 orchestral excerpts
- Rudiments
Marimba
- 2 AND 4 mallet Solos (Bach Violin Sonata, Partita, or Cello Suite is recommended for one of your selections)
Timpani
- Solo (Carter 8 pieces for 4 Timpani or equivalent is recommended)
- 3 orchestral excerpts
Xylophone
- 3 orchestral excerpts
Glockenspiel
- 3 orchestral excerpts
Tambourine
- 2 orchestral excerpts
Cymbals
- 2 orchestral excerpts
Sight-reading (on any of the above)
